Awareness Video Tutorial

The Feeding Tube Awareness Foundation is enlisting your help in spreading the word about the positive stories about how tube feeding works into your life...not controls it! Tell your tube feeding story by making a short video about life with tube feeding.
What do you love to do while tube feeding? What kinds of exciting places have you been with your tube? What has tube feeding made possible for you and your family?
There are lots of options for how you can make a video for Feeding Tube Awareness Week…Some of you may already have a favorite method, if so go for it! Just remember to use #feedingtubeawareness when you share it.
For those of you who haven’t made a video before or who want to try a new method, let’s look at some of the ways to make a video!
Making your idea happen!
First thing first, think about what kind of video you would like to make.
You can use make a video recording (using your phone, a webcam, or a camera) of your child (or yourself!) doing something fun while tube feeding—this can be as easy as shooting a short video the next time your child is tube feeding while, for example, horseback riding!
You can edit this video in a video editing software, such as iMovie or Movie Maker, to add music, text, and effects. Or you might want to just upload the video directly to Facebook or Youtube or Instagram as is!
You can make a slideshow of photos to show the progress your child has made over time or a series of activities he or she likes to do or to celebrate a group of children who tube feed. You can use Picasa slideshows or iPhoto.
You can also make a video using a combination of video, photos, and text in video editing software, such as iMovie (for Macs), but you can also do similar things using Movie Maker (for Windows). There are also online video editing tools that are really simple to use.
Important things to include in your video
Here is your chance to show the world how a feeding tube contributes positively to your life!
A few tips:
Sharing!
Once you have made your video you can upload it to your favorite sharing site: Youtube, vimeo, or, if it is short, Instagram (or all of the above). You can also share the link to the video on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. Share the link to your video as widely as possible and encourage your friends and family to share it too. When sharing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Youtube use #feedingtubeawareness to identify the video!

A few tips:
- Think about your video as a story with a beginning, middle, and end that all contribute to the idea you want to communicate.
- Keep it short. People like to watch relatively short videos…about the length of a song or shorter is best.
- If you use music, make sure it is music you can upload online.
